Prompt: After reading Chapter 1 of Into the Wild, consider your first impression of Christopher McCandless. Based solely on the events and details presented in this opening chapter, do you believe McCandless truly understood the risks he was taking when he entered the Alaskan wilderness? Why or why not?

Prompt Response: My first impression of McCandless is that he is a foolish person. Based solely on the events of the opening chapter I do not think McCandless understood what he was doing. I think this because he was under prepared to face the conditions of the environment he was going into.

Summary: Viewed the introduction to the book Into The Wild.

Reflection: I learned that you cannot outrun a bear. Knowing this will help me if I ever get into a situation like this.
