The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?
Prompt Response: I was watching a show where the protagonist is betrayed by one of his closest allies, and later on in the show we are shown that the person who betrayed the protagonist was actually doing it to kill the main antagonist who ends up killing the traitor who he only saw as a pawn. This plot twist changed the way I viewed the traitor as I originally thought he was a terrible person only to find out that he was just a pawn trying to get revenge on the antagonist who used him to commit his crimes.
Summary: Completed pop quiz over short story "A Rose for Emily".
Reflection: I learned that Internal and External conflicts can be somewhat similar to one another. Knowing this will better help me identify them as I progress further into my academic career.
